Good Wednesday morning,
Here is our weekly Forecast for the home games ahead:
Thursday: we will see a mix of sun and clouds throughout most of the day, with winds mainly out of the south at 5-10mph, gusting up to 15-20 mph by gametime. There is a 20% chance of a scattered shower or storm (not a washout), but the main threat is to the north. High temperature will be 76ºF.
Friday: A warm front lifts north on Friday bringing some energy into the Midwest, presenting a 20-30% chance for showers and storms. Forecast models often have a hard time picking up on warm fronts, we’ve timed things out for you below via the latest NAM model; nothing is expected to be severe at this time. Winds will be out of the south-southwest at 5-15mph with a high temperature of 80ºF, also seeing some peaks of sunshine at times.
Friday 5pm forecast: 20% chance for a t’storm (the right image is CAPE, the brighter the colors the more energy for producing thunderstorms).
Friday 8pm forecast: 30% chance for a t’storm.
Friday 11pm forecast: 30% chance for a t’storm.
Saturday: We will have a mix of sunshine and clouds here by game-time, with also a 30% isolated afternoon t’storm risk, a high temperature of 80º, winds out of the southwest at 10-15mph, gusting up to 30mph at times. Below, the top left is cloud cover, the top right is a simulated radar from the GFS, bottom left is wind gusts and bottom right is CAPE (energy for t’storms). Nothing severe expected at this time.
Sunday: A cold front will be in the vicinity sweeping across the Midwest Sunday, presenting a 40% chance for scattered t’storms by game-time with some peaks of sunshine possible. We are forecasting a high of 73ºF with winds out of the west-southwest at 10-15mph, gusting upwards of 30-35mph at times. Nothing severe expected at this time.
Monday/Tuesday: Here we will future some beautiful weather under high pressure, with highs of 70ºF and 72ºF, light winds and plenty of sunshine. No weather related hazards are expected.
Wednesday: Similar to this coming weekend, here we are forecasting a 40% chance for scattered t’storms, a mix of sunshine working in with a high of 78ºF, and southwest winds at 10-15mph gusting up to 40mph. Can’t rule out some gusty storms here by game-time, it’s something we need to watch as we get closer to Wednesday’s game.
