Good evening. Just a quick update regarding the wintry mix coming early tomorrow morning across central PA, then further east across PA, the Catskills, and Berkshires. Winter weather advisories are up through the region through Friday.
Here’s a quick time line of what to expect. Sleet and freezing rain will break out across PA Friday morning and spread eastward. Precipitation will start as snow across the Catskills and Berkshires before changing to sleet and freezing rain. It will be plain rain closer to the coast due to warmer temperatures. Precipitation will end tomorrow afternoon from west to east and as temperatures rise about freezing.
Snowfall will be minimal, perhaps 1-3″ in the Berkshires and into northern New England.
Icing will range from a trace to as much as 0.10″ with highest amounts in the higher elevations.
