#NDwx #SDwx #WIwx #MNwx Sizable Rainmaker Coming Saturday Night Through Tuesday. Details Here! E.

Synopsis: Good morning! We are watching high pressure nosing into the region this morning leading to temperatures  near or below freezing across much of the region. This high pressure will promote dry conditions through the beginning of the weekend with moderating temperatures each day. Our next chance for significant precipitation looks to come late Saturday through early next week as an area of low pressure moves through the region. This active regime looks to continue through week 2 with above normal precipitation expected across a majority of the forecast area.

This morning, we are starting below freezing in many areas. Here are the temperatures as of 6 AM CT.

Frost and freeze threats continue tomorrow morning across eastern areas as high pressure continues to settle in.

After a nice Friday and Saturday morning, showers develop west Saturday afternoon and expand through Sunday. This continues through early next week. We have more details on this system in the video, so make sure to watch!

Total rainfall from this system looks like a general 0.50-1.00″, focused south.

Behind this system, we dry things out for a bit, but we cool things off as well. This brings back the frost and freeze threats midweek next week. Here’s the forecast low temperatures for Tuesday morning.

Another glaring signal is for wetness to pick back up in week 2 and perhaps linger into weeks 3-4 as well. Here is the latest forecast precipitation compared to normal in week 2: 200-300% of normal!

Confidence and Risks:

  • High confidence on frost and freeze concerns through tomorrow for much of the region.
  • High confidence on warmer conditions ahead of our next rain maker late weekend into early next week.
  • Increasing confidence on a moderate rainfall event, especially south Sunday-Tuesday.
  • Average confidence on more frost/freeze concerns through next week.
