#MNwx #NDwx #SDwx #WIwx Warm Temperatures and Variable Rains This Week, Cooler and Active Next Week? E.
Key Points: May 8, 2017
Synopsis: Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as we move forward into the second week of May. As discussed last week, this week will be warmer thanks to an upper ridge nearby, but it will still be quite active across southern portions of the region. Temperatures through the week will be largely above normal despite rainfall, but into week 2, we expect active times to expand along with the risk for some cooler temperatures compared to normal. The details are covered in the video and blog below – have a great day!
- Scattered rains ongoing this morning across the Dakotas. These push east through the day today.
- Storms move east today with another round expected tomorrow.
- A cold front moves through the region Tuesday, shunting most of the rainfall south of the forecast area. The exception may be southern South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin Wednesday.
- Total rainfall between today and Friday will be variable with heaviest amounts south.
- Temperatures this week will be above normal with warmest temperatures west.
- Week 2 looks to become more active across the region, as cooler conditions try to make a comeback across the region, especially west.
