#ILwx #INwx #OHwx Very windy & wet today, a few slick spots overnight? Warm and pleasant weekend ahead! K.

Key Points – Thursday, April 6, 2017:

Synopsis: Good Thursday morning and thanks for checking out the latest forecast update! Will be battling very strong northwest winds today, chilly temps and some cold rain showers as well…fortunately, we clear out Friday into a very nice and warm weekend ahead! We believe, other than Monday and Tuesday, that next week we are fairly dry across the Midwest…which fits the timeframe we’ve been discussing in the long-range videos. However, looking into the medium to long-range we see data suggesting the rains turn back on into mid-April. Have a great day!

High Wind Warnings and Advisories this morning for wind gusts topping 50mph possible today.

Showers shift off to the east…can’t rule out a little wintry precipitation mixing in across northern and eastern locations throughout the day and into the overnight…a few snow showers possible getting into Ohio overnight into early Friday morning as well.

Where a few slick spots could set-up overnight across northeastern IN into southern Michigan and northern Ohio locations with temps getting down around freezing or slightly below expected.

We see plentiful sunshine set in on Friday into the weekend…check out these beautiful weekend temperatures! Will be nice to dry out as well.

Next showers and storm chance comes early next week on Monday into Tuesday…but other than that not a whole lot in the way of inclement weather next week.

That “dry” time that we have been mentioning in the long-range is coming to fruition, you can see that fairly well on our updated week 1 precipitation from normal map! Other than showers today and Monday/Tuesday, that’s about it for precipitation over the next week.

However, looking at the 11-15 day precipitation from normal forecast, we don’t think this dry window lasts very long as we get into mid-April.
