Key Points: May 8, 2017

Synopsis: Good morning! We continue to watch an upper level low sit and spin across the region brining a few brief rain (and even some snow!) showers to the region. This will continue over the coming days with cooler than normal temperatures expected. Periods of rain will impact Ohio and western PA at times this week, but the remainder of the region should only see a few showers intermittently – not a washout! The next “big” system we are watching will unfortunately come Mother’s Day weekend with possibly some additional rains. Stay tuned this week for updates on this!

Current radar shows a few spotty showers along with plenty of clouds over the interior.

Another chilly day is expected – mainly in the 50s with some low 60s south.

The pattern over the next 2 days looks similar to today with only a few showers expected for most. The exception will be in western PA and Ohio.

Our next big chance for rain comes this weekend. The European model below is one example of a possible outcome. Heavy rains Saturday into Saturday night.

The pattern into week 2 does look warmer – hang in there for some warmer times ahead! I’ll get into the why behind the forecast in the video below. ~Ed
