Good morning!! Conditions are improving this morning as our storm from yesterday moves away from the region. This will leave us with partly cloudy conditions across much of the Northeast. However, eastern New England likely stays cloudy closer to the lingering storm to our east. Cloud cover forecast for today:

Our QuickCasts for today highlight more rain coming tomorrow and some gusty storms possible across Ohio tonight. Temperatures today will be warm for most, with the exception of eastern New England.

Thunderstorms will move into central Ohio this evening weakening as they move toward the West Virginia and Pennsylvania border overnight. Showers and thunderstorms will impact the Mid-Atlantic and New England through Thursday.

While severe weather is not expected across much of the region Thursday, some places in southeastern PA and NJ could see some gusty storms where its a bit more unstable and warmer. The SPC has placed this area under a marginal to slight risk for severe weather.

Total precipitation will be a widespread 1-3″ – great for the drought!

Behind the storm Thursday night into Friday, some snow is likely across Ohio, West Virginia and western PA. Accumulation will be minimal for most, but the higher elevations of NW PA and WV can see some accumulation!

The weekend will start a warming trend, peaking early next week. Look at these projected highs for Monday and Tuesday!!

Confidence and Risks:

  • High confidence in widespread rains tomorrow into Friday with some gusty storms tonight in Ohio.
  • Average confidence on severe threat tomorrow in southeastern PA and NJ. It will depend on exact location of the warm front.
  • Low to average confidence on snow accumulation Friday west. It will depend largely on elevation and intensity considering that it is April.
  • Average to high confidence on warmth finally returning early next week!
