#CTwx #MAwx #RIwx #PAwx #NYwx #NJwx Few Showers Today, Unsettled Weekend?

Good morning! We are tracking a few showers along with a cold front moving through Pennsylvania now. Behind the front across Ohio, West Virginia, and western PA, cooler temperatures will prevail today in the 60s. Ahead of it, temperatures look to reach into the 70s for some in the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England once again. Here’s a look at our QuickCast through Saturday.

Current radar shows the showers moving through Pennsylvania as of 6 AM. These push east through the day.

While it won’t be a washout, expect more clouds and a few showers through the day across eastern PA into New England. Increasing amounts of sun will be found farther west!

High temperatures for the day will definitely be cooler than past days, but still above average for most.

The rest of the work week looks fairly nice with temperatures in the 60s for most along with some sunshine. Unfortunately, as the weekend approaches, we likely turn more unsettled with showers and thunderstorms around. On the bright side, temperatures will be much warmer once again by Sunday! Here’s a look at the GFS model for Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures Sunday look incredibly warm once again, into the 70s for many!

We are still tracking a cooler shift for next week with the threat for backdoor cold fronts. Here’s a look at the latest week 2 temperature departure forecast from the European model. Notice the warmth is shunted southwest across the Ohio Valley and Southeast with cooler than normal conditions in New England.

Risks and Confidence:

  • High confidence in a nice end to the work week with seasonable to slightly above average temperatures.
  • High confidence in an unsettled, but warmer weekend. It won’t be a washout, but showers and storms will be around.
  • Increasing confidence in cooler risks across New England in week 2 as some weak high latitude blocking develops once again.
