9-5-18 Northern Plains: Quieter weather the next few days… rain chance this weekend. B.

Good Wednesday morning everyone! Rain is pushing out of the area with just an isolated shower or two this morning. The very heavy rain that fell last night put down 1.5-3″ in Southern Minnesota with localized higher totals: 

Overall, we’ll keep clearing clouds out throughout the day today, and we’ll enter a quieter period with just a few isolated showers tomorrow and Friday. 

With clearer skies, temperatures will plummet overnight in the Eastern Dakotas and Minnesota allowing for lows in the mid-low 40s. Here’s a look at temperatures over the next 4 days: 

We could see some isolated showers and storms near the North Dakota border Friday afternoon, with a better chance for the area along a warm front Saturday night and into Sunday with some additional storms possible on Monday into the Eastern Dakotas and Minnesota.
