Good Friday Morning!
Here is today’s latest video forecast update:
A current check on radar shows that we are looking at almost completely dry conditions across the region, the only exception being some light showers in extreme E MN:
Estimated rainfall over the past 24 hours. We saw a good area through SE ND,NE SD and Central MN that saw rainfall amounts generally between 0.5 to 1.0 inches:
The rest of today we are expecting things to be mainly dry, there is the chance for some very spotty showers, however we are thinking this should not be anything robust or worth changing plans for. Any storms that pop should be pretty short lived and not cause too many issues:
Below is simulated radar from 7 AM CT Saturday morning until 7 AM CT Sunday morning. This line looks to work into NW ND right around sunrise tomorrow morning, and will slowly work its way across the Northern Plains before exiting E MN by Sunday morning.
A look at a simulated radar image for Sunday afternoon shows that we should be in store for a day Sunday PM:
We are watching a storm cluster to work through the area Monday night into Tuesday morning. We are still a few days out to fine tune the details, but right now there is some data hinting at this cluster being on the stronger side so we will be keeping a close eye on this. Below is simulated radar from 1 PM CT Monday until 1 PM CT Tuesday:
A look at precipitation guidance out through Sunday evening. We think the heaviest of rains will fall in E ND/SD and W MN during the day Saturday:
