7-29-19 Nebraska/Kansas: Targeting scattered storms mainly west in the short-term…turning much more active east mid to late week. K.

Today’s video:

Observed rainfall over the past 3 days:

This is our favored rainfall solution over the next 2 days…we think this model below is a bit underdone, where generally where we see rainfall across western NE, eastern CO to far western/NW Kansas ranges from 0.25-0.75″ (a few locations may see locally 1-2″ under a strong to severe storm that develops). Further east across central to eastern Nebraska can see scattered 0.25-0.5″ as well overnight into Tuesday morning as scattered rainfall works east:

The pattern for eastern NE to eastern KS turns MUCH more active mid to late week as storm clusters look to frequently swing down on the periphery of the ridge further west and south:

Totals favored through the weekend…we think areas like Grand Island to Omaha, Lincoln to along and east of Concordia, Hiawath, Topeka, Kansas City to Emporia pose a risk for a solid 1-3″+:
