7-20-18 Northern Plains: Scattered showers today… storms possible late tomorrow in Western Dakotas. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Friday morning everyone! Still seeing some scattered rain showers associated with an upper-level low pressure system over Minnesota. These likely persist throughout the day especially in the Eastern Minnesota, possible very isolated showers into the far E. Dakotas. Generally light amounts with the best risk for isolated 0.5″ of rain in NE Minnesota.

Drier for most of Saturday, but along a warm front storms could start to develop late Saturday. A few of these could be strong or even severe with hail being the main threat, but not looking at a widespread severe weather outbreak at this time.

Another cold front starts to push in Sunday and leads to additional rain chances especially in Western and Northern parts of the area:

Overall, total rain for the next 7 days is hit and miss with some areas under stronger thunderstorms picking up decent rains and other areas staying fairly dry.

Cooler weather on average over the next week, but the western Dakotas does warm up Saturday and Sunday as the warm front builds in:
