Multiple storms are moving through the easter Dakotas and western Minnesota currently dumping heavy rain over portions of the area. Because these storms are moving NNE there is the potential for flash flooding to occur in some areas as this continues through tonight. Rainfall will generally be 1-2″ especially for North Dakota, but localized pockets of 3-4″ cannot be ruled out.

There is also the potential for some of these cells to become severe with the primary risk being hail and strong winds as there is still enough energy in the atmosphere between these two main lines to spark a severe storm or two. The yellow area highlighted below has the greatest risk for severe storms.
