6-11-19 Northern Plains: Scattered storms increase later today…..nice Wednesday-Thursday. N.

Video:

Scattered showers and storms will increase on the radar after 2pm today, lasting through mid-evening.  These will pose a gusty wind and hail threat, with an isolated severe storm possible.  Here is the forecast rain through tonight:

Wind forecast over the next 4 days:

Most areas are rain-free Wednesday and Thursday, as a reinforcing blast of cool/dry air invades tomorrow.  We’ll have a wave of showers/storms enter northeast Minnesota late Thursday night into Friday, then increasing chances for widely scattered storms Friday night through Saturday with a front diving south through the area.  Coverage can tend to be lower Sunday, and more focused west and southwest pending how far south the front gets.  Overall, nothing too heavy the next 7 days, as many areas average a touch below normal for week 1 precipitation.  Those rain risks really start to ramp up next week, when much of the area can actually turn a bit wetter than normal as we get into the latter portion of June.  Here is the 7-day rainfall forecast:

Out to 10 days, those totals get quite high.
