500 Festival Forecast – Wednesday (5/17/17)

Synopsis: Good Wednesday morning. Below is the latest forecast for the brunch and events outdoors on this coming Saturday. We continue to have concern for scattered storms, especially getting later in the day and evening, but can’t rule out a storm early in the day as well. Coverage right now is ~40% for storms, as we get closer to this event we can begin to pinpoint coverage and timing better. It will be another warm day with highs getting in the lower 80s with a southeast wind at 5-10mph, gusting at times to 25mph. Can’t rule out a weather-related hazard at this time.

Saturday: The start of the day, at this time, looks to be dry. However, getting into late morning and in the afternoon we start to see storm chances increase in coverage to ~40%.

Dew points will be in the upper 60s throughout the day with moderate energy present…this is why we’ve increased the storm chance slightly higher than what our latest guidance would suggest.

Total rainfall…if we get under one of these thunderstorms, wouldn’t be shocked to pick up a quick 0.25-0.50″ as these won’t be moving very fast.

Winds will mainly be out of the southeast at 5-10mph, gusting at times up to 25mph.

Temps will start out in the lower 60s Saturday morning and warm into the lower 80s by the afternoon. Given the upper 60s dew points, I’d expect it to be quite muggy during the afternoon.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
