500 Festival Forecast: Tuesday (5/9/17) – Kids Day

500 Festival Forecast: Tuesday (5/9/17) – Kids Day

Synopsis: We continue to focus on Friday night into Saturday for the Kids Day set up, event and tear down. The data has started to come in with more consistency as seen below, although there is still time for things to change slightly as we get closer to the event.

Late Friday: Right now our data is consistent on seeing some dry time just after midnight Saturday morning.

Temperatures during this timeframe look to be in the upper-40s.

Here also is what the winds look like very early Saturday morning…out of the northwest at 5-15mph and gusting to 20mph at times as well. Right now we are not expecting these to be an issue.

Kids Day (Saturday): As mentioned above, our major forecast models have come into agreement that Saturday should stay dry with partly to mostly sunny skies for the event. Not expecting any weather-related hazards with this event.

This is a simulated cloud cover product from the European model suggesting partly to mostly sunny skies (indicated by the black, the white is cloud-cover).

Temperatures look to warm into the lower 60s to near 70º as well with winds continued out of the northwest at 5-15mph for most of the day.

We still favor the data that suggests we dry out on Saturday and will continue to watch things very closely and update often throughout the week.
