Good Friday morning everyone!
We still have snow occurring in portions of South Dakota and far Eastern Minnesota this morning. Both of these areas of snow will push out of the region by around mid-day today.
Overall, any additional accumulations will be pretty light with maybe 1 or 1.5″ in extreme Southwest South Dakota.
A few snow showers are possible later this evening and into the overnight hours for far Northeast Minnesota as a weak disturbance moves through. Little to no accumulation expected. High pressure will move into the area later today, and temperatures once again will plummet overnight, with the risk of freezing fog in portions of Central North Dakota. Though, much of the area will see sunshine tomorrow!
However, as we head into the overnight hours on Saturday, a system developing to the west will work into the area and produce light snow (and some mixed precipitation).
Overall, impacts from mixed precipitation look to be minimal, but snow accumulations of 3-5″ w/ isolated higher is certainly on the table. Note, the system has been trending weaker the past several runs and given the cold, dry air mass in place, wouldn’t be surprised to see this trend continue. Here’s the area we’re targeting that has the best chance for 3-5″ of snow:
