Today’s video:
Still dealing with red flag warnings and high wind risks as we get later tonight into Wednesday especially for Kansas and I’d say even southwest Missouri as well, at risks for NW winds sustained at 15-20mph gusting to 45-50mph especially on the day on Wednesday. Otherwise, seeing a lot of sunshine today, Wednesday and Thursday overall for the forecast area:
Simulated radar guidance tonight into Wednesday morning is below from the 3km NAM model…a few very light showers, maybe even a storm, possible across far north-central to northeastern Kansas to northern Missouri work west to east…right now we think 0.1-0.2″ is possible in these wave, there will be locations that will miss out and stay dry, however:
Dry weather settles back in Thursday into Friday…the second half of the day on Friday across the western half of Kansas we start working in some light showers, the bulk of the best rainfall potential looks to begin after midnight across southwest Kansas near Ulysses east to Ashland, Dodge City up to Great Bend via the latest European model. Areas north and east in Kansas, right now, have the potential to see lighter totals, and especially in Missouri we look to miss out on this rainfall as the track looks to move south and east more into OK to AR. It’s hard to get specific with exact rainfall totals as models are going to flip flop back and forth, but it’s certainly encouraging to see rainfall being forecast in the short-term in the areas dealing with the wild fires and red flag warnings.
Latest temps over the next 2 weeks shows a nice warming into next week with normal to slightly above normal working east of the Rockies…we are eyeing this timeframe to be one of the more consistent ranges of warmer temps enough to get out in the field and get the seed into the ground:
