Accumulating snowfall is likely over the next 36 hours. Heavy snowfall is expected and Winter Storm Warnings and Advisors have been issued across much of North Dakota.

Timing (Wednesday 9AM CST-Thursday 6PM CST):

Snowfall totals between 3-6″ will be common across much of the northern half of the state with isolated 6″+ through central North Dakota. Lighter amounts are likely in southern North Dakota and a light band of accumulating snow will form early Thursday in SE South Dakota into Minnesota.

A few isolated and light snow showers are possible early Friday afternoon and late Saturday. Behind these snow chances very cold temperatures are likely and look to stick around over the next few weeks.
