So far our forecast is on track from the previous forecast.
Here is a look at the current temperatures (as of 4 PM) around the Chicago area. Notice we are still very warm, especially on the south side of Chicago.
Here is a look simulated radar from 6 PM tonight through 4 AM tomorrow morning. Overall, not much change from the previous forecast. We still expect for this snow to weaken as it pushes south this evening.
Here is a look at preferred model snowfall totals out through 10 AM tomorrow. As far as total, not much difference in regards to previous forecast. Generally, less than 0.5″ can be expected and should be light in nature.
Here is a look at a loop of temperatures from 6 PM tonight through 4 AM. Temperatures will continue to drop tonight. with widespread freezing temperatures by around 2 AM. Road temperatures should be warm enough as the snow falls for minimal impact. Some accumulations on grassy and elevated surfaces will be possible.
Breezy conditions will persist through the night which will help dry up any moisture and will make it difficult to accumulate on surface. Here is a look at wind gust from 6 PM tonight through 4 AM. Winds look to stay consistent around 20 – 25 MPH throughout the night. Sustained winds will generally be out of the NNW around 10 MPH.
