Good Monday morning everyone! Overall, it’s a quiet and cold morning across the area with just a few very isolated snow showers and flurries. Here’s a look at low temperatures this morning at around 9AM:
Conditions will generally be quiet today, but some upper-level energy could squeeze out very light snow showers and flurries especially across Minnesota late this afternoon and into the overnight hours:
Temperatures will remain chilly today, but a south wind will allow some warmer temperatures to push into the area Tuesday – Thursday:
Here’s a look at winds over the next 4 days. Note, the south wind on Wednesday will aid in warmer temperatures for much of the area:
The next system we need to track is a weak wave that could clip NE ND and Northern Minnesota the second half of Thursday with some scattered light rain/snow showers. The better chance for additional snowfall accumulation will come in the Western Dakotas Friday into Friday night. A high pressure will be pushing a band of snow south. The GFS is further south with this solution right now, and with the high pressure bearing down, cannot rule out a weaker solution:
Overall, the 7 day precipitation totals are very light with this being the main wave. Many will likely stay dry with the best risks of 0.1 – 0.25″ of precipitation in the Western Dakotas:
