11-11-19 Tovar Dubuque: Latest thoughts on snow exiting. MG.

Here is our latest thoughts on the main line of snow exiting.

We need to be on the look out for some light snow beyond this initial wave.  There will continue to be passing “upper level energy” overhead this evening.  This energy is a source for lift in the atmosphere.  However, moisture will be lacking and it will be hard to produce any snowfall beyond this initial wave.  The loop below shows the upper level energy from noon through midnight.  The “reds”, “yellows”, and “greens” signify upward motion in the atmosphere.  Because of the cold air, it will be possible that this can squeeze a few flurries this evening for an additional light coating.  No widespread additional snow is expected and these would be more scattered in nature with minimal accumulations.  Something to keep an eye on this evening.

Here is a look at temperatures for this afternoon/ evening.
