Today’s Video:
Good Thursday morning everyone! It’s a very quiet morning across the area and temperatures will be warming up into the widespread 60s for the area today before a cold front really drops temperatures down into Saturday. Here’s a look at temperatures over the next 4 days:
Note, we’ll have a cold front start to work into the area tonight and into tomorrow which will lead to some light scattered showers pushing into SE SD and into Southern Minnesota overnight tonight. Here’s a look at the simulated radar into tomorrow mid-day:
Generally with rain battling dry air, amounts will remain pretty light with most receiving less than 0.1″ of rain:
We’ll have a notable piece of energy working south tomorrow night and into Saturday morning which could spawn initially scattered rain showers before changing over to more scattered snow showers Friday night. A few of these could contain some moderate bursts of snow at times. Generally, many will stay completely dry, but a few areas could pick quickly dusting or a very isolated 0.5 – 1.0″ by Saturday morning:
As we mentioned above, temperatures really cool after this front passes and higher pressure also works into the area allowing the area to dry out into next week. We will, however, be dealing with strong wind gusts tomorrow into Saturday:
Into next week, some activity could start to pick up especially south and west later in the week, but thinking the best rain chances won’t come until the last few days of next week and the week 2 period aided by an extending Pacific Jet stream.
Generally, we’ll average out above normal in the Dakotas the next 7-days weeks. Here’s a look at the city charts for Minneapolis, Sioux Falls, Bismarck and Fargo.
