Synopsis: Good afternoon everyone. Lake effect snow is currently falling in portions of the Northern INDOT district. Here’s a look at the current radar:
Given the latest radar and model trends, we see no reason to adjust our current snowfall outlook for Northern Indiana.
Snow looks to fall at a relatively steady pace over the next 48 hours and will diminish Saturday afternoon as winds begin to die down.
Winds will be quite gusty throughout this event which will lead to visibility issues and hazardous travel conditions.
Temperatures will linger in the teens for areas seeing snow as a bit of warmer, lake-enhanced air flows over those areas. Many areas that remain dry will drop below zero again the next few nights. Here’s a look at the forecasted temperatures from the hi-resolution NAM through Saturday afternoon.
As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to us! We will continue to update as this lake-effect snow event progresses. Have a great afternoon!
