We also just experienced an unprecedented, early season winter storm in the Ohio Valley. An ice storm shaped up across central/southeast Indiana into Ohio, with heavy snow in portions of Illinois. Here is an example of what our forecasts showed yesterday compared to reality with storm reports.
Here are the observed snow/ice totals…keep in mind this map hasn’t updated to cover entire event but gives a good idea. Given the complexities of this storm, we feel we covered the snow/ice well. Northern Ohio/northeast Indiana ended up with lower amounts due to more sleet than snow.
