Good morning! It’s a diverse morning out there depending on your location! Temperatures range from the teens across interior New England, to near 50 across parts of southwestern PA and Ohio. We are also tracking some rain across the Midwest that will push eastward through this afternoon into tonight along a decaying cold front. Here’s the latest radar and temperature map as of 5:50 AM.
These showers will push eastward throughout the day with clouds across Ohio and western PA. They will push into the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England overnight before dissipating. Here’s a look at the projected radar from this morning through the overnight hours.
Like they are now, temperatures will be diverse this afternoon ranging from the mid to upper 60s across Ohio and western PA, to only the upper 30s to lower 40s across eastern PA and New England! This is all thanks to the backdoor front still stuck in New England. Here’s a look at temperatures later this afternoon.
Rainfall with this system is looking fairly meager – only a few tenths of an inch across Ohio and western PA, and probably less than a tenth of an inch elsewhere.
Warmer air will move into much of the Northeast by Wednesday as the flow shifts out of the southwest. There will be some clouds around, but also some peeks of sunshine. Here’s a look at projected cloud cover and high temperatures.
Warmth continues Thursday as well with similar amounts of cloud cover. Even southern New England gets in on the warmth this day, approaching 60 in many areas.
Friday will remain warm as well ahead of a strong cold front. This will introduce rain (and maybe even some thunder!) chances once again Friday afternoon across Ohio, Friday night across PA and the Mid-Atlantic, then Saturday across New England along with falling temperatures behind the front. Here’s a look at the GFS model for that time period.
Watch the bottom drop out on these temperatures behind the front as well!
Rainfall with the front looks decent – generally ranging from 0.50-1.00″.
The video this morning (5 minutes) covers it all. Have a great day! ~Ed
