Starting today, forecasts will be issued by state. This will allow for us to focus on your area with more detail than in the past. We will be making the changes in the data base over next few weeks so be on the look out for communication from us on that. Please feel free to let us know what you think about these changes – we appreciate any and all feedback!
Synopsis: Good Monday afternoon! A potent system is expected to swing out of the Rockies and into the area later today and tonight, bringing the risk for severe storms late this afternoon into the evening across portions of southeast Kansas. We expect scattered storms to rapidly increase from 4-6pm, especially from areas just east of Wichita and south of Emporia. More stratiform showers expected across the western and northern portions of the state tonight. This system pulls east of here Tuesday afternoon, with gradually clearing skies from west to east. Still eyeing frost/freeze concerns in the far west tonight and more widespread concerns on Tuesday night. Have a great afternoon, and let us know if you have any questions!
