Good Sunday morning! For most areas, temperatures will remain well above freezing today with on and off rain showers. Across the higher elevations of New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and NW CT, some areas will dip back below freezing tonight, leading to an icing threat as moisture moves in from the west this evening and overnight. Here’s the projected radar through tomorrow.
With the threat of minor icing, the National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for the areas I mentioned above through tomorrow morning (shaded in pink) before a change to plain rain.
Freezing rain generally looks to accumulate a trace to a tenth of an inch, but any ice can be slippery. Here’s the NAM projection for ice.
Rainfall overall looks to be a tenth to a quarter of an inch through Monday.
