9-7-18 IA/KS/NE: Rain risks continue south/east through Saturday….much drier next week! N.

Current radar this morning: Watching a couple focused areas of rain.  With very little movement flash flooding is a concern, particularly across the band just east of Wichita.  This band likely persists here nearly all day.

Rainfall forecast through 7am CDT Saturday:

Looking at Saturday 7am to 4am CDT Sunday, we note that shower activity will persist throughout the day across southern Iowa into southeast Nebraska, with a few additional showers over Kansas through the day.  This activity should finally scoot east out of these areas Saturday night.  Also note a weak disturbance pushing into western Nebraska Saturday night which could bring a few showers or storms, but looks rather spotty.  

Much drier conditions for many Sunday.  A rather dry forecast ahead for next week, with a warming trend.  Check out the temperature trends over the next 10 days:

Rainfall over the next 6 days: Beyond the next 2 days, a mainly dry stretch coming across the central Plains next week.
