9-2-19 Trenton Thunder: Eyeing rain chances for your Labor Day.V.

Good Labor Day Morning!

A current check on radar shows that we are watching an area of precipitation off to the west slowly work its way to the north and east:

We think today could be more on the active side of things as we are watching two main waves of precip with some scattered activity in between. Below is a look at a 4 panel of modeled simulated upper level energy. Darker yellows/reds are indicative of more energy (support) for precip. Around noon we are watching for a broken wave of energy to work its way across the Trenton area and provide a shot at rain/storms. We think that as we work later in to the afternoon during your game, chances will become more scattered with hit and miss storms. The best shot at precip right now looks to come in the 5 to 7 PM time as we can see a much more organized and strong line of showers and storms trying to work its way into the area:

Below is a modeled look at what this upper level energy could translate to on radar. This data is a little more aggressive with our band closer to game time, but this certainly something we are going to be monitoring as we work later into the morning and closer to that 1 PM start:

Highs today look to be in the low to mid 80s, we could be a few clicks cooler if we see precip during the peak heating hours of the day:

Winds look to be out of the South East at 5 to 15 mph, an occasional gust to 20 mph cannot be totally ruled out:

A look at precip guidance out through midnight tonight. Again, this model is a little more on the aggressive side of things but we do think that there can be general totals of 0.25 to 0.75 inches in the area with localized amounts higher. Those higher totals will all depend on where the heaviest of storms set up. As we saw on sim radar, this model liked more storms closer to you so totals are higher:

We are certainly going to be watching this for you and providing updates as often as we can! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions! Have an awesome Labor Day!
