For our northern Iowa friends, some repeated rounds of storms are likely to lead to heavy rain in areas as we go through the coming days. The setup features a stalled boundary across the area with an upper-level ridge over the south-central Plains preventing the front to move south. You could also call this a “ring of fire” pattern.
