“Localized” storm in western Kansas overnight dropped 3-6″ in parts of Logan and Cove counties. Other-wise, many didn’t see much rain.
Hot, breezy, humid, but mainly dry today and Wednesday. Just a few isolated storms in the area, mainly as we build in daytime heat. Thursday afternoon and evening brings our highest storm chance, especially western Missouri and eastern Kansas. Quieter with MUCH less humidity and wind Friday. Friday will be the best day this week!
Rain over the next 36 hours:
Thursday, a cold front will push through which will enhance storm chances, based on current timing would place areas in east/southeast Kansas through western Missouri in the “best” rainfall risk along with isolated strong storms. In the circled zone we favor a 0.25″ to 0.75″ rain with isolated 1-2″.
Wind forecast over the next 4 days:
Humidities will drop rather notably Thursday evening through Friday northwest to southeast, but it’s brief as humidity increases this weekend. This image below shows the dew point temperatures from Thursday afternoon through Friday.
