Good Saturday morning! What an nice start to the day with temperatures in the 50s and mostly sunny skies. Certainly feels like an autumn morning. We will keep this cooler than normal trend in temperatures over the next week. Great weather for today, then we track the return of rain later on Sunday into Monday. More rain chances may return mid to late next week.
Today’s forecast is fantastic. Mostly sunny skies with a few more clouds building in later today into tonight. Highs will reach the upper 70s with low humidity, and light west winds 5-15 mph. Winds will relax going through the evening, becoming mostly calm. Going to be a great evening for baseball!
Heading into Sunday, clouds will continue to increase and eventually, rain will arrive. I do think the potential is there to get a decent portion of the day mainly dry. The highest rain chances arrive tomorrow night into Monday morning. I would still plan on small rain chances for the game in the afternoon, with chances gradually increasing into the late afternoon and evening. Not looking at much t’storm potential with this. Winds will be out of the southeast 5-15 mph.
Here is an animation of the NAM model, going in 3-hour increments from 8am Sunday to 2am Monday.
Heading through Monday, the highest threat for showers and storms will be during the morning with decreasing chances in the afternoon and evening. At this time, it appears it will be mainly dry for the evening game. Winds will be out of the north 5-25 mph, with unseasonably cool temps in the 70s for highs.
Tuesday looks great with some sunshine and dry conditions expected. Highs will be in the upper 70s with a light north wind 5-10 mph bringing in lower humidity levels.
There is some uncertainty in the forecast as we go into Wednesday-Thursday. Some model guidance is more aggressive on rain chances returning, while other data keeps it dry. At this time, we will add small storm chances late Wednesday, and continue these chances through Thursday.
Looking at Wednesday, we will add a 30% storm chance for the afternoon and evening. Winds will be variable 5-10 mph. Temperatures will remain pleasant for August with highs around 80.
Thursday will feature small storm chances with slightly warmer highs in the low to mid 80s. Winds will be variable 5-10 mph.
We will continue to fine-tune this forecast over the coming days. Have a great Saturday, and let us know if you have any questions.
