Good Thursday morning! In this update we will take a look at the forecast during the upcoming 7-day home stretch. A cold front will move through the area on Friday with storm chances ahead of it, then a drier and significantly cooler air mass filters in Friday evening into the weekend. More storm chances will arrive by the end of the weekend into early next week. Temperatures will remain much cooler than normal.
A cold front will pass Cincinnati around 2PM Friday. Ahead of the front, scattered showers and storms will be possible, with the storm chances ending mid to late afternoon. It will be a windy day. Winds will be mostly west to northwest 10-35 mph. Temperatures will fall late in the day, with temperatures by first pitch only in the lower 70s, falling into the upper 60s during the evening. Certainly will feel more like autumn. Expect dry conditions with partly cloudy skies.
Saturday is looking very nice with mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs near 80º. Winds will be much calmer, out of the west-southwest 5-15 mph.
Our next system will move in on Sunday. Models bring in the rain by mid afternoon. There is still room for adjustments regarding the timing of this system. Winds will be out of the SE 5-20 mph with highs only in the upper 70s with increasing clouds.
Scattered storms are in the forecast for Monday, with afternoon highs in the upper 70s. Winds will be out of the north-northwest 5-20 mph.
Dry weather returns to the forecast Tuesday behind a cold front passage. Temperatures will remain comfortable with highs around 80 with lower humidity. Winds are forecast to be out of the north 5-15 mph.
We will keep the forecast dry through Wednesday as well with highs in the lower 80s and variable winds 5-10 mph. Some models try to bring in slight rain chances, but we think the best solution is to keep it dry for now.
The next storm system looks to move in Thursday with scattered storms. Highs will warm into the low to middle 80s, still very nice for August standards. Winds are forecast to be out of the northeast 5-15 mph.
We will continue to fine-tune this forecast over the coming days. Have a great day, and let us know if you have any questions.
