Good Saturday morning! The weather has been fantastic over the past several days, and this stretch of sunny days and pleasant temperatures continues through this weekend as high pressure remains in control! As we have discussed, rainfall chances are on the rise early next week, likely having some impacts on Tuesday evening’s game. Drier weather will build back in by mid/late week.
Today we have another very nice day shaping up with mostly sunny skies, pleasant temperatures, and low humidity. Highs today near 80º with northeast winds 5-15 mph. Temperatures in the middle 70s by first pitch will drop into the mid/upper 60s by the seventh inning stretch.
Sunday will feature a few more high-level clouds filtering in, but skies should remain partly to mostly sunny through the day. Temperatures will be warmer with highs in the lower half of the 80s, and easterly winds 5-10 mph.
Tuesday’s forecast continues to feature decent rain chances as an upper-level trough moves across the region. The latest data shows a decent coverage ~70% of showers and possible some storms through the day-time and lingering into the evening hours. Certainly cannot rule out weather delays, but the system will be slowly exiting through the evening and overnight. If the timing speeds up, we may get the majority of the rain out in time for the game. Expect southerly winds 5-20 mph, with gusts decreasing by game-time. An average of multiple computer models puts down around three-quarters of an inch of rain, giving the grounds a decent drink.
Wednesday should be a mainly dry day as this upper-level trough lifts out of the area and weakens. We will continue to keep a spotty rain chance in the forecast, but overall the game should be dry with weather issues unlikely. Winds will be west to northwest 5-15 mph.
Thursday looks like a nice day overall, with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs are forecast to reach the lower 80s during the afternoon with north-northwest winds 5-15 mph. A “back-door” cold front looks to drop into the area by the evening. This could squeeze out a few spotty showers, but for now confidence is too low to add in the forecast, and the timing of any rain would likely be after the game.
Have a great day, and let us know if you have any questions!
