8-9-18 Cincinnati Reds Forecast: Warm day ahead for tomorrow while watching for hit or miss storms to impact the region into the weekend. I.

Good afternoon! Here is the latest 7-day forecast for this upcoming stretch of home games:

The first game of this upcoming stretch of games has the potential to be impacted by widely scattered storms associated with a southward-drifting frontal boundary across the area. 30% storm coverage is expected at the time of first pitch tomorrow evening with storm chances continuing through the rest of the game. Widespread severe weather is very unlikely at this time, however, I can’t rule out some gusty winds, small hail, and localized heavy downpours with these storms. Temperatures at first pitch will be highly dependent on the location of where storms fire and track. If not impacted by storms, temperatures will be in the upper 80s. HRRR simulated radar from 8am EDT Friday through 8am EDT Saturday is shown below. Storms will weaken overnight due to a lack of daytime heating/low-level jet. A few stray showers may hang around overnight into Saturday morning.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, storms are once again at play but mostly from I-74 southward into KY. There is a chance by the time of Saturday’s first pitch that these storms will be south of the area. Gusty winds, small hail, localized heavy downpours can’t be ruled out with Saturday afternoon/evening storms as well. Temperatures during Saturday’s first pitch will once again be dependent on storms, but will likely range form the upper 70s to lower 80s. An upper-level low will meander across the OHV region into Sunday bringing additional slight risks for showers/storms that wrap around the low pressure system. Coverage looks to be between 10-20% at best. Temperatures will range from 82-84ºF by the start of Sunday’s game. Regarding rainfall, a quick 0.5-1.5″ of rain is possible if impacted by these storms through the weekend. If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out and have a great evening!
