Today’s video (watch the video for more details):
Observed rainfall over the past 24 hours:
We are anticipating pretty much a widespread dry day region-wide today with high pressure in control. We believe ~2-10am local time we can see isolated to scattered showers in the area circled in red late tonight into Friday morning from west to east…key emphasis on “broken” as many even in this circled area can miss out on this brief light rainfall chance:
Rainfall totals would be generally around a quick 0.1-0.5″ across North Dakota as well…otherwise, dry elsewhere:
Friday is another dry day for Minnesota, however, we see a fairly potent wave regenerate east of Montana into western ND/SD into early afternoon Friday, making its way west to east through the remainder of the afternoon into the evening as shown below. A few of these storms may be locally heavy to strong in nature at times. Watching for this pulse to work from Fargo to Aberdeen after midnight Friday night into daybreak Saturday morning into central Minnesota throughout the day Saturday:
Here’s our favored rainfall guidance Friday into Saturday as well from the model used above…again, some of these cells will be locally heavy in nature with spots getting 2-3″ especially across the Dakotas in spots is not impossible…but generally here we are talking about a base 0.25-0.75″ where it rains. Northeast ND, southeast SD and northern and southern MN look to be on the drier side of things with lesser rainfall chances here:
