8-6-19 NE/KS/MO: Short Term Update Through Wednesday Evening.V.

Good Tuesday evening!

A look at radar across the states shows that we are dealing with a line of storms that extends across South Central Missouri into E Kansas:

As we work into the evening and overnight hours we are keeping a close eye on a storm cluster as it works its way S from the Dakotas. Below is simulated radar from 1 AM CT tomorrow morning until 7 PM CT Wednesday evening. :

This is the current thinking as to where the best coverage can happen overnight and into tomorrow. The two biggest threats from this system look to be damaging wind gusts and large hail. This system can certainly be larger and impact areas outside of the yellow circle, but that is the area that we think has the best shot at seeing severe weather overnight/tomorrow.

High temperatures for tomorrow:

Nebraska- mid to upper 80s across the majority of the state with the chance for low/mid 90s the further SW you go:

Kansas- upper 80s/low 90s for the NE corner of the state with the majority of KS looking at upper 90s/ low 100s:

Missouri- mid to upper 80s for the northern half of the state and low to mid 90s for the southern half of the state:

A look at rainfall guidance out through 7 PM CT Wednesday. We think this model matches up best with what our thoughts are for placement of rainfall. We also agree with S Central/ SW MO being the area that receives some of the heavier rains as this cluster looks to be most expansive as it works into Missouri. We think a base of 0.50 to 1.0 inches is possible with the potential for localized amounts being much higher in the 2 to 3 inch range :
