8-31-19 Minnesota: Discussing rain chances for today and tomorrow.V.

Good Saturday afternoon!

Here is a look at the latest radar image, we are seeing some very light rains on the international border and extremely scattered rain showers across Central/ S Central MN:

24 hour radar derived rainfall shows that the majority of rain in the past 24 hours has fallen in SW MN, an overall 0.1 to 0.5 inches was observed:

A look at favored simulated radar from 3 PM CT today until 1 AM CT Sun morning. We are expecting to have overall dry conditions for the rest of the day with only some very isolated showers around, mainly in the southern half of the state. This precip looks to be very light and does not hold any severe threat:

Highs today look to be in the upper 60s/ low 70s across the entire state:

Going into the overnight and early PM hours tomorrow we are watching for a very isolated round of possible showers and storms to work into the state. This is associated with a small upper level disturbance that could bring some lighter precip.  This looks to be more on the scattered side of things and at this time does not look like an “equal opportunity” rain. Here is simulated radar from 2 AM CT Sun morning until 2 PM CT Sun afternoon:

Precip totals out through 7 PM CT Sun evening. The area circled in black was this model’s estimated rainfall for the morning shot of rain. Most of this area will only receive lighter amounts of rain. The emphasis in this image is the scattered and light nature of the precip for the next 30 hours. This is by no means going to be a washout and any precip looks to be on the lighter side of things. This coverage may even be too overdone as this looks to be a very hit and miss pattern with light totals:
