8-26-19 Minnesota: Short Term Update Through Tuesday Evening.V.

Good Monday afternoon!

A current check on radar shows that we are seeing our area of heaviest precip work off into WI with just scattered showers and storms off in NW MN:

As we work later into the afternoon and evening, we think most of the widespread precipitation will work off to the east and we will only be dealing with scattered showers and storms, most notably in the N portions of MN although we cannot totally rule out some scattered activity working further south as there will be enough upper level energy around to spark this hit and miss precip. Below is simulated radar from 7 PM CT this evening until 7 AM CT tomorrow morning:

We think that Tuesday looks to feature more of these scattered showers and storms that will be most prominent in Northern and Central MN. This does not look to be a widespread rain like what we see on radar now, but will be more scattered/ hit and miss nature. Here is a look at what radar could look like from 7 AM CT tomorrow morning until 7 PM CT tomorrow evening.

High temperatures tomorrow look to be on the cooler side of things again, some spots near the International border may not make it to 60 degrees. Further south we think that central MN can be in the mid 60s and S MN should be in the upper 60s/low 70s:

A look at rainfall guidance out through 7 PM CT Tuesday evening. The area circled in red will see the majority of precip come with the wave that is working east right now. The area circled in black will see the precip tomorrow come in the form of scattered showers and storms. We do think totals will be a touch higher and slightly more widespread than what this model is depicting, but agree with the thought that most of the activity will be focused in the N and Central parts of MN:
