Good Sunday Morning!
A current look at radar shows that we are seeing some very light and scattered activity across the state with this area working to the S and E:
24 hours rainfall estimates. These are derived from the intensity of a storm on radar so they are not going to be exact down to your location. Overall we saw the heaviest rains fall along the MO/IA and MO/KS borders:
For the rest of the day, we think we will see more locations stay dry rather than observing precip. Below is a look at simulated radar from Noon CT today until 8 PM CT this evening. We think the precip on current radar will continue to work its way S and E in a broken line fashion that could have a stronger cell here or there, but overall we think this is a weaker, less organized line:
At the end of the last loop, we saw a few cells trying to spark along the MO/KS border toward the end of the evening. Right now we think that these cells will linger around the overnight hours, but look to fade/ work S as we work into Mon morning. As these fade, we think Monday will be a dry day across the state. There is about a ~20% chance right now of your typical summertime pop up thunderstorm, but this looks to be situated in Central/ South Central MO as of now. Here is a look at current favored simulated radar from 1 AM CT Mon Morning until 4 PM CT Monday afternoon.
High temps today and tomorrow:
Today- highs will be in the upper 80s/low 90s for much of the state. We could be looking at mid to upper 90s near the MO/AR border:
Monday- slightly warmer than today with highs in the low to mid 90s across the state. The coolest spots look to be further N near the MO/IA border:
A look at precipitation guidance out through Monday evening at 7 PM CT. We do want to keep an eye on the area circled in black as we think there could be more precipitation overnight tonight and into tomorrow AM than what this model is suggesting. The potential for some stronger cells is certainly there and they could produce a few locally higher amounts of 0.75-1.5+ inches of rain. We also want to keep an eye on far SE MO as some of that heaver rain in S IL could bleed into the IL/MO/KY border area tonight and into the overnight:
