Good Friday morning everyone! It is a quieter start to the day with just a few dense fog advisories in North Central North Dakota. Most stay dry today with just a few scattered showers in NW North Dakota today and overnight.
Temperatures will warm up very quickly today and into the 90s in portions of the Dakotas!
Tomorrow will be even warmer with heat building ahead of the frontal boundary. Here’s a look at temperatures over the next 4 days:
Storms will start to fire especially in Western South Dakota sometime between 4PM and 7PM tomorrow evening with scattered storms in ND and Northern MN along a front. Still thinking the NAM3 model may be a tad too far north with the main cluster of storms, so we used the European model as a good example of rain evolution through the weekend. Stay tuned to short-term updates for any adjustments into the weekend.
Total rainfall over the next 5 days is now pretty similar for the GFS and the European. The European may still be a tad robust with storms and a weak wave early Tuesday in Northern Minnesota, but it’s certainly been trending in the direction of the GFS.
