Good Tuesday Morning!
Here is your latest video forecast update:
A look at estimated rainfall amounts for the past 24 hours. Much of SW ND and the Western 2/3 of SD stayed dry, however much of ND and most of MN saw measurable amounts of precip since 10 AM yesterday:
A current look at radar shows that we are overall pretty dry across the Northern Plains, we are watching a disturbance in NE ND and NW MN, as well as extreme S Central SD getting touched by some light rains associated with a cluster in Nebraska:
For the rest of today, we think that we can see some scattered showers for E ND but this does not look to be an all day event. We think that the current rain in ND will slowly start to diminish and become more scattered in nature. As we work into the evening and overnight hours, showers and storms can become more of an issue for Central MN. Below is simulated radar from 1 PM CT today until 1 AM CT Wednesday morning:
Going into Wednesday, we are seeing more of a drier trend that we think will keep much of the Northern Plains dry tomorrow. We think that late Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning is when we start to introduce more chances for precipitation, most notably in the Dakotas. Thursday during the afternoon and into the evening is when we see that precip work into MN. Below is simulated radar from 7 AM CT Wednesday morning until 7 PM CT Wed evening, as well as an image for Thursday AM:
A look at 7 day rainfall guidance out through next Tuesday. We think that overall we will be seeing a relax in the precip as we work later this week and into the weekend. This is not saying that we will not receive any rain, but totals will be lower than some of the impressive numbers we have seen in July/ beginning of Aug:
