Current radar as of 9:15AM CDT: A few scattered showers working into northern Iowa this morning along a cold front.
Today’s forecast across the region:
Forecast radar through the afternoon and evening shows the very scattered shower and storm risk along a front in Iowa this afternoon through tonight. Better chances the further north and east you go in Iowa.
Don’t look for much rainfall today. Scattered pockets of 0.10″ to 0.50″ in central and northeast Iowa, with an isolated higher amount possible. Not everyone in the circled area will see rain!
In the video I touch on more details regarding the forecast for the weekend into next week. Have introduced a bit more rain in the forecast for the northern portions of the area. Here is the latest total rainfall forecast through Tuesday of next week. You will notice this is more than what was indicated in yesterday’s forecast. Data is keeping the upper-ridge a bit more suppressed allowing some upper-level energy to move over the northern areas this weekend into early week.
