Today’s video:
Observed 24 hour rainfall noting some localized very heavy rainfall of 2.0-4.0″+ already fallen across the area:
Storm reports noted across the area over the past 24 hours as well…all modes of severe have been noted:
Simulated radar guidance over the next day is below…favoring additional localized very heavy rainfall and flooding risks especially in NW North Dakota, and additional scattered strong to severe storms (including isolated tornadoes) across the eastern North Dakota into the northern half of Minnesota…South Dakota drying out:
Favored rainfall guidance from now into Wednesday morning is below…a few locations in NW ND may see an additional 3-6″+, otherwise where we see showers and t’storms totals should range between 0.75-1.50″ (iso 2-3″ however, will be possible in any strong to severe storms that may develop):
It’ll be quite windy here in the short-term, especially over the next 2 days as this robust low pressure system slowly works east:
Rainfall from Thursday-Tuesday is shown below. Thursday will be phenomenal with sunshine, dry conditions and low humidity. Storm chances will return at times in the extended, but we also think there is plenty of dry time this weekend. The pattern looks to ramp up early to mid next week with storm clusters favoring our region. So you can make the case that 75% of this rain below falls after Sunday.
