7-9-19 Kansas: Short Term Update Through Wednesday evening.V.

Good Tuesday afternoon!

We have our eyes on two different possibilities for weather for your Wednesday. The first comes in the morning hours for the North Central parts of Kansas near the Nebraska border. Here is a simulated radar loop from midnight Central tonight until 7 AM Central. There is some model discrepancy regarding the location as some models keep this cluster a little more N and not crossing the NE/KS border much so this will be something to watch. This area should continue to fade as we progress into the day break hours and into late morning:

There could be some scattered pop up activity tomorrow, but we think these chances will be pretty low and coverage should not be widespread. The other area that we are keeping an eye on tomorrow is the extreme SE part of the state tomorrow afternoon/evening. A front will be working its way through and looks to bring a line of thunderstorms to the SE parts of the state. Here is a simulated radar loop from 2 PM Central Wednesday until 11 PM Central. This line should only affect the SE corner of the state in the evening, however some of these cells could be strong. Be sure to check out the update in the morning for the latest on the potential tomorrow evening:

For tomorrow, we could be looking at a decent gradient across the state with high temps in the NW corner of KS in the low to mid 80’s and temps in SE KS peaking in the middle 90’s:

A look at rainfall guidance through Wednesday evening. Our thoughts with this guidance is that we could see the area of rain early Wednesday AM be shifted a few counties to the E, and the PM line for the SE parts of the states could be underdone in this model. Some of the storms in the PM could certainly produce 0.25+ inches in a short time which is not being modeled here:
