Good Thursday morning everyone! We’re starting off the day very quiet throughout much of the area as high pressure works in. Temperatures are going to be very nice today before heat really begins to build tomorrow into the weekend:
As a warm front pushes in early tomorrow morning, a few thunderstorms could develop along the border of North and South Dakota and bring isolated pockets of 0.5-1.0″ of rain. For the most part, high pressure suppresses rain risks elsewhere.
As we head into late Saturday, a front will push into NE ND and Northern Minnesota. Ample instability and wind shear will allow for possible development of supercell thunderstorms late Saturday evening with hail and isolated tornado risks before they develop into a line with a damaging wind threat possible overnight:
This front will linger into Sunday and can’t rule out some possible re-development late Sunday in Central Minnesota and the Eastern Dakotas:
Areas south of the front will continue to see very warm temperatures, especially overnight lows with some areas not getting out of the mid-upper 70s at night:
