7-30-18 Central Plains Forecast: Scattered storms today….much drier week ahead with a warming trend! N.

Today’s forecast across the area: Scattered thunderstorms, most numerous in a corridor from central Nebraska to central Kansas, outside of that it’s very hit and miss.  

Forecast radar from 9am today through 3am tonight.  Upper-level low pressure digging in across the area will spark scattered storms, most numerous this afternoon and evening.  A couple storms mainly in central Kansas could contain some hail and wind.  Overnight, best rain chances shift across southern Missouri east towards the boot heel.

Tuesday will be a dry day for a large portion of the area as surface high pressure builds in behind this system.  A few additional scattered storms possible across eastern areas, particularly eastern Missouri.  Watch the video for more info on the rest of the week.  Here is a look at rainfall percent of normal forecast over the next 7 days:  Not good news for Missouri/Iowa where we have lacked rain big-time.
