7-28-19 Kansas: Short Term Update Through Monday Evening.V.

Good Sunday afternoon!

A quick peek at radar shows that we are watching some scattered showers and storms mainly focused in the E half of the state, but we do have a stronger cluster of cells in the SW corner of the state:

We expect this precip in Kansas to slowly march its way out of the state by tomorrow AM. We think that our line of storms as shown below will continue to march its way E this evening and into the overnight hours, but should start to clear out by tomorrow morning. We think there is some potential tonight and overnight for some storms to be strong or severe, although this is not looking to be that widespread or extremely likely. All forms of severe weather are possible (hail, damaging winds, flash flooding) in any of these storms.A look at modeled radar from 5 PM CT tonight until 9 AM CT tomorrow:

Tomorrow looks like a dry day for the majority of the state. Highs should be in the low to mid 90s for much of the state:

Tomorrow evening we will have to watch for the chance of some scattered activity, most notably in the W part of the state. Here is a look at simulated radar at 7 PM tomorrow. There is no organized line of precip that will be moving through, but there is a chance of rain and storms as we work into the late afternoon/early evening hours of your Mon:

Rainfall guidance out through 7 PM CT Mon. Rainfall amounts will be centered on the eastern portion of the sate as seen on radar, with the exception being potentially tomorrow late afternoon and evening in W KS .This model may be underdone in the central parts of the state as it could have higher isolated amounts for tonight, but overall we agree that this is not going to be a widespread, high precip event. Amounts can certainly be higher than what is shown if you are caught under a strong cell. While it does not to look to be widespread at all, an inch + can fall in a short amount of time with any of these stronger cells:
