Good Friday morning! Here is today’s weather outlook across the region:
Today’s latest severe storm outlook: Enhanced severe storm threat across southwest Nebraska through western Kansas from late afternoon through tonight evolving from northwest to southeast across this area.
Forecast radar from 9am today through 6am Saturday shown below:
Rainfall through 10am CDT Saturday….I do feel this model may be underdone in portions of western Kansas. I do feel most locations in the “enhanced” severe risk can pick up 1-2″ of rain today with local 3″ amounts possible.
Going to be an unsettled weekend mainly across the southwest half of the region. We look to catch somewhat of a break Saturday from west to east before more energy dives in Saturday night through Sunday night across Nebraska and Kansas. Here is the European forecast radar from Saturday morning through Sunday night.
Rainfall over the next 7 days. I think the data may be a bit too far east with the heaviest rains across Kansas, but Nebraska-Kansas-Missouri will be the main focal areas for rainfall over the next several days. Areas across especially central and northern Iowa are looking to miss a lot of this moisture. This is concerning for portions of central/southern Iowa where things have been very dry this month.
